Have you been on Jalan Kuala Selangor recently? If yes, chances are you would have noticed something striking across the busy thoroughfare which paints a pretty picture in the skyline. That is part of the MRT SSP Line elevated viaduct midway in construction.
Measuring a total of 427m in length, the viaduct crossing over 13 lanes (6 bounds) from IGB International School to Damansara Damai area is the longest span out of the 29 long spans along the entire MRT SSP Line.
Long span crossings are needed when the distance between two piers is above 40 metres – usually across highways, rivers, rail tracks or other existing structures.
With construction along Jalan Kuala Selangor progressing smoothly, this longest span is due for completion by end of April 2019.
